Sze-leung Cheung, founder of Stardusts, is a globally recognized astronomer, science communicator, and educator. His lifelong passion for astronomy began in preschool, sparking a journey that led him to become a leading figure in science communication. From building outreach programs at the Ho Koon Astronomical Center to organizing impactful initiatives during the International Year of Astronomy 2009, Sze-leung's work in Hong Kong left a lasting legacy.
Joining the University of Hong Kong, he continued to make waves with innovative projects like 'A Night at the Science Museum' and the 'Transit of Venus' campaign. In 2014, Sze-leung's international career took off as he joined the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and became head of the Office for Astronomy Outreach (OAO). Under his leadership, the OAO established a global network of outreach coordinators from over 100 countries, enabling volunteers to engage in over 5,000 activities and reach millions of people worldwide.
Today, Sze-leung's expertise and network drive his transformative work at Stardusts, where he is revolutionizing education and science communication.
